The Gravity Residence Liverpool by YPP

Working on the luxury student accommodation project with YPP

Helping YPP bring luxury to Liverpool students

We’ve been working on a project with our longstanding client, YPP, fitting out a new luxury student accommodation in Liverpool, The Gravity Residence.

The project started with the complete renovation and indeed transformation of an old office building known as Drury House into 104 apartments including one bedroom, two bedroom and studio rooms. Fitted out with Sky and Freeview ready TVs and furnished to the highest specifications, these apartments are destined to be some of the most desirable in Liverpool and we were thrilled to be working on the project. It’s not just the apartments themselves that are super luxurious though, even the communal areas including an on-site gym, secure luggage store room, grand reception and lobby with full concierge service are impressive enough to rival a few top hotels.

We have worked with YPP on a number of projects to date, helping them deliver the Piccadilly Residence in York, Havana Residence, Park Square Residence, Q1 & Q2 Residence and Crown Residence all in Leeds. We are also responsible for providing managed IT services for YPP, which is ideal when we are delivering specialist services to sit alongside their IT infrastructure.

The Dynamic Solution

For Gravity Residence, one of the tasks for our team was to provide the building with a high speed network infrastructure. A data and comms room was centrally located with a high speed fibre backbone throughout the building to sub cabinets, to ensure all the network infrastructure and cabling could be easily managed and maintained once the students have moved in.

To keep the site secure and most importantly, the students safe, an IP CCTV system was installed throughout the site and this was paired with an access control system featuring Comelit VIP Audio Visual panels in the communal areas and Comelit IP Audio Visual SIP interface handsets in the apartments themselves. This allows residents to safely identify any visitors before granting them access to the ground floor communal area; the CCTV then provides a close eye on the communal spaces too.

TV IRS distribution meant we could supply Freeview and Sky in each apartment and the communal areas and 43” LED HD Smart TV’s meant the students could watch it all in style as well.

The Timescales

We started working on this project with YPP in December last year and after many months of hard work, the project completed in August 2018, ready for the first students to start moving in.
